About Withers Farm

Withers Fruit Farm Ltd is a fruit farm based in Ledbury, Herefordshire. Founded in 1958 by Allen and Barbara Leeds. Their son George joined the business in 1983 exploring new growing technologies in Strawberry production aimed at top quality fruit for UK supermarkets. George’s sons Richard and Nicholas both joined the business between 2013 and 2019.

Today the business grows over 5000 tonnes of Strawberries, 500 tonnes of Apples and 150 tonnes of Blueberries. Our Strawberries and Blueberries are all marketed through Berryworld and supplied to a wide range of retailers. All fruit is packed locally at Wye Fruit which is only a short drive from the farm.

The Environment

Our commitment to the future extends beyond just technology. We carefully choose equipment that aligns with environmentally conscious practices, minimising our ecological footprint and contributing to sustainable fruit packing solutions.

Wye Fruit values and respects their employees, consumers and local community. As part of efforts to maintain sustainability, we try to look at the long-term gains rather than the temporary ones.

Our growers take the impact farming has on the local environment very seriously. As such every effort is taken to consider these impacts in the work undertaken on all farms.

As looking after the environment is a priority, Wye Fruit invested in 2800 Solar Panels to reduce the energy consumption, providing a financial and environmental benefit to the busisness. This investment has ensured Wye Fruit is moving towards a sustainable future.

In 2024 the business is excited to announce that it will be investing in a new section of Solar Panels on it’s roof.
